Loneliness in the city
Final major project at the Manchester college Art and design foundation course. This was my first attempt to make puppets as an aspiration to make stop motion animation; and this project helped me to get a place in BA Illustration with Animation program at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Project portrayed people I worked with as a mental health care worker in Manchester and observed the paradox of the city: despite business and a large population, many were living very lonely lives especially in the margins of society.
Technically I was trying to imitate still as if from stop animations. Making sets and taking photographs on film-camera, learning about lighting and ways of creating pictures of emotions with inanimate objects like puppets.
